South Australian State Championships 2002

SA 2002Full results are given in the spreadsheet table below for the Championships held on the weekend of April 20/21. Thanks are due to Rob Fitzgerald for the results and to John Hallowell for the pictures.





1.  Venue for these Championships was a new flying site at Monarto, near Murray Bridge, where this concreted circle has been laid.






2.  Robin Hiern set a new speed record of 284.75 kph with his Profi powered FAI model.






3.  Famous aerobatics pilot from the early nineteen sixties era, Brian Horrocks was one of the aerobatics judges.






4.  FAI aerobatics winner Mark Ellins again showed he really knows his way around the stunt pattern.






5.  F2C, otherwise known as FAI teamrace was won by Paul Stein and Graeme Wilson.






6.  Finalists in the Vintage A teamrace, from left to right are Mark Ellins and Graeme Wilson, Greg Pretty and John Hallowell, Rob Fitzgerald and Paul Stein.






7.  Murray Wilson won 1/2A combat in fine style, going through undefeated. It was Murray's first win in an Open event at State level.






8.  Crescendo, John Hallowell's winner of the Classic B teamrace.






9.  Goodyear finalists.
